ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVEIW

Zaverbai Panachand Trust was established with a corpus donated by Mrs Zaverbai towards the welfare of his fellow community members. The trust was formulated with the principle objective of providing financial assistance and support to the economically weaker section of the community for Medical and Educational necessities.

 The trust established in 2003 under the Mumbai Public Trusts Act, 1951 and has over its 4 years of existence provided financial assistance to poor through donations and in some cases loans to be repaid at the convenience of the beneficiary. The finances have been provided in case of various events including hospitalization expenses, medical and drug expenses, educational expenses and in some cases general losses occurring due to floods, earthquakes or any other form of natural calamities.

The Trust is handled by 6 trustees, with Dr Deepak Shah as the Managing Director of the Trust. The Trust for its grass root level activities has one project coordinator along with a basic staff of four part time, non-employed, voluntary staff. In addition about 6 Medical Doctors, serve the community, with the objectives of the organization, on and part time basis regularly.

The Zaverbai Panachand Trust is currently running an OPD service in south Mumbai at subsidized rates for the poor which include providing consultation for Medical, Gynecological, Surgical and Homeopathic conditions. The OPD is handled by prominent medical doctors including gynecologists, surgeons, homeopathic consultants and occasional visits by orthopedic and pediatric consultants, along with administration of low cost and effective drugs. The charges to the beneficiaries along with administration of drugs (inclusive of antibiotics for a five day course) are as low as 20 INR.

In addition the Trust has over it four years of existence sponsored……………… individual cases ( with a maximum limit of 2500 INR) to cover medical, educational and other expenses related to them.  The total amount of dispersed funds till date are………………………..INR. In addition, interest free loans have been provided to …………………. Individuals, comprising of a total of …………… INR.

The trust is currently operated within the premises allocated by the Managing Director to operationalize the Out patient services to the weaker sections. The consumables and drugs are also sponsored by the Managing Director for the aforesaid activities. The trust has been awarded the 80(G) Certificate for 50% tax exemption on donations, to donors making donating to the cause of the organization and the community at large.
